Your AI bookkeeper
HI, I'MPENNY
Your books are never behind. And never quietly wrong.
Most small businesses run on books that are weeks out of date — which is exactly when a cash surprise becomes a crisis. I close yours every month, reconcile every account, and show my work: every number traces back to a receipt, a statement line, or a decision you approved.
I'm AI, and the work is all mine — a standalone service. When I'm not sure I bring it to you instead of guessing, and everything I do is double-entry, logged, and explained in plain English. No backlog, no hourly billing, no software for you to run.
Get started now
Both start with just your email — subscribe and I begin on your books today, or have me send a few quick questions first. Once you're set up I'll email you a link to set your password, so the books are always there to log into.

HOW PENNY
WORKS
I follow the same proven process a great human bookkeeper does — inquiry, diagnosis, onboarding, and a clean monthly close. I just never run out of hours, so I never fall behind.
Tell me about your business
Reach out and tell me about your books — your business, your accounts, and where things stand today. No commitment, no pressure. Just the start of a conversation.
I diagnose & propose
I look at what you have, find what's behind or miscategorized, and send back a plain-language plan: exactly what I'll handle each month, plus a one-time quote to catch you up if your books need it.
We connect & I catch you up
Connect your accounts or forward your statements. I set up your chart of accounts, bring your books current, and establish a clean, reconciled starting point you can trust.
Your books just get done
Every month I categorize, reconcile every account, and close the period — then send you a plain-English summary of what happened. You stay in the loop without doing the work.
I NEVER FALL BEHIND
A human bookkeeper's workflow is tried and true — I run that same workflow, just without the bottleneck. I work your books continuously, close on schedule, and batch the handful of questions that actually need you into one short message instead of a constant trickle. The discipline of a good bookkeeper, without the backlog.
Who's behind Penny
PENNY IS AI. THAT'S THE POINT.
Penny does your books herself — categorizing, reconciling, and closing, end to end, on the disciplined workflow a seasoned bookkeeper uses. She works continuously, monitored for quality and accuracy, so the books stay consistent, current, and never fall behind — and you're not paying for anyone's hours.
Built and reviewed by one human founder — an accountant with fifteen years of real ledgers. Find him at @ChristopherE893.
How your data is protected — in specifics, not adjectives.
Accountant-built
The founder kept real books for fifteen years before a line of her existed
Guardrailed
Can't book the same charge twice, can't invent an account — code, not promises
Asks first
When she's not sure, she flags it and asks — never guesses and buries it
Secure
Encrypted and audit-logged, on bank-grade SOC controls
Documents win
Bring the receipt in months late — she re-books from the document and retires her own guess
WHAT PENNY DOES
The work a bookkeeper does for you — done for you. You focus on the business; I keep the books clean, current, and closed.
Monthly bookkeeping & close

Includes: Categorization · Bank reconciliation · Monthly close
Catch-up & cleanup
Behind by months or years? Books a mess? I'll bring them current and fix what's wrong — miscategorizations, unreconciled accounts, duplicates, bad opening balances — to a clean baseline you can trust.
Includes: Catch-up · Cleanup · Clean baseline
Receipts & records
Snap a photo or forward an email and I'll read the receipt, match it to the right transaction, and file it against the right account. Every expense keeps its paperwork — nothing slips through.

Reports in plain English
Every month I send plain-English financials — P&L, balance sheet, what changed and what's worth watching — and flag anything that needs your eye. Numbers explained, not a dashboard you decode alone.

- Every bank & card account reconciled
- Receipts captured & matched
- Plain-English monthly reports
- Catch-up & cleanup, scoped separately
- Full accounting system, in your own login
A transaction counts when I process one — off a statement or your bank feed. Working the books yourself — journals, invoices, bills, reports — isn't metered. The whole accounting system is yours either way.
Not sure whether 100 covers you? Count the lines on last month's bank and card statements — that's your number. Paying off a card doesn't count (it's a transfer between your own accounts), and if I see the same purchase on both a feed and a statement it still counts once. If you're heading past 100, I'll tell you before you get there.
Behind on past months? Catch-up and cleanup is a one-time job we scope together — quoted before I start, never billed by surprise. Those older months never count against your 100 either. The $60 covers your books from here on.
Next stop is secure checkout — your email is already filled in, so Stripe just needs your card. Then I email you a link to set your password. Already subscribed? Log in.
How your data is protected — your banking password never touches my systems, and I can't move your money.
QUESTIONS
The things business owners ask before handing over their books. Don't see yours? Just ask — it's the fastest way to find out if we're a fit.
I do — the day-to-day bookkeeping, all of it, myself. I'm a standalone AI service: I categorize every transaction, reconcile every account, and close your month end to end. I run the disciplined workflow of a seasoned bookkeeper, monitored for quality and accuracy — and you aren't paying for anyone's hours.
Software like QuickBooks gives you tools — the bookkeeping is still your job. A human bookkeeper does the work but bills for the hours. I'm the third option: your books get done for you, end to end, for one predictable monthly price — and you still get the full accounting system, in your own login, if you ever want to work in it yourself.
Yes. Your data is encrypted, every access is controlled and audit-logged, and I run on bank-grade SOC controls. Your data is always yours, and you can export it anytime.
Connect your bank and credit-card feeds securely, or just forward me your statements — whatever you're comfortable with. I never ask you to hand over a banking password.
That's common, and it's welcome. I'll catch you up and fix what's wrong — miscategorizations, unreconciled accounts, bad opening balances — to a clean, reconciled baseline, then keep it current month to month. Late paperwork is welcome too: a receipt that turns up months later keeps its true invoice date and still posts cleanly into your open books — no fudged dates.
I flag what I'm unsure of instead of guessing at it — that's the whole point of asking rather than burying it. When a document shows up later that contradicts a call I made, the document wins: I re-book from it and retire my own guess. And if you spot something I got wrong, tell me and I'll fix it; a correction never uses up one of your included transactions, and if the month is already closed the fix posts properly rather than quietly rewriting a closed period. Every change is audit-logged, so you can always see what changed and when.
Every transaction categorized to your chart of accounts, every bank and credit-card account reconciled to the statement, your month closed on schedule, and a plain-English P&L and balance sheet — with anything that needs your eye flagged. It's one simple monthly service: no hourly billing, no long-term contract, and you can cancel anytime. $60 a month covers the accounting system and the first 100 transactions I process; busier months are $15 for each additional 20, and I'll tell you before you get there. Catch-up or cleanup of past months is a one-time job we scope together.
That's what the whole year is building toward. Your books are closed and reconciled month by month, so at year end your accountant gets a real P&L and balance sheet instead of a shoebox in April — and everything exports when they ask for it. I don't file your return; your accountant or tax preparer does that, working from books that are already done. I also don't run payroll or track inventory — if you need those, you need a system that does them.
No — the work is mine. You do get a real login to the full accounting system, and it's worth having: your P&L, balance sheet, and every transaction I've booked are always there to look at, and you can work in it yourself if you want to. Doing that doesn't use up any of your included transactions — those count only when I process one off a statement or your bank feed.
TALK TO PENNY
